After dabbling in politics as a member of the UK Youth Parliament, I decided it wasn\u2019t for me, so Maths it was. Maths turned into Economics and after graduating with a PPE degree in 2012, Economics turned into Finance.<\/p>\n<p>I landed in Asset Management at Fidelity Investments which was a steep learning curve for a young woman whose parents had never heard of a stocks and shares ISA. It was an invaluable experience where I began working with advisers and clients, guiding them with their investments and portfolios. In 2014 I decided I wanted to drive investment decisions and so I moved to Sanlam Investments to do just this.<\/p>\n<p>At Sanlam I qualified as a CFA Charterholder and became a fund selector for the Advisory and Wealth Management business units. As part of a team, I wasresponsible for over \u00a32bn of client\u2019s assets. While managing client portfolios, my interest grew in an evolving part of the investment market: ethical investments. I subsequently developed Sanlam\u2019s ethical proposition and was appointed head of the Socially Responsible portfolio range. It was through my allocations to ethical investments that I met Murano, which connected me with some terrific fund managers.<\/p>\n<p>When the opportunity arose to head up Murano Consulting in 2020, it felt like fate had come knocking. I was being asked more regularly by my asset managers for feedback on their new investment proposition ideas, so I was already aware of demand for this type of consulting service.
